HOLA 3F! And whoever else is reading this.

My very first post on class blog! Whee.

I'm BORED. :/

Exams are boring. We've cleared Chem, MT, Lit, Pure Geog, Geog Elect, English, combined Humanities and ta-da! What are we left with? Physics, E-MATH and A-Math and Practicals. How very boring.

>.>

Okay people, study!

WE MUST PROVE TO THAT @!#$% THAT 3F IS NOT FULL OF SLACKERS! :D

ACTUALLY, WE DONT NEED TO PROVE IT. Even if we need to prove it, its to prove it to ourselves. That little fly shouldn't matter, aye? :)

Okay, people. Study.

xoxo,
Min

Class Chalet / 2:58 AM

As you all should know by now, we will be having a class chalet on the marking days for the EOY exams. It will be held from the 9th to 11th of October. Its a 3D/2N event. Its a Thursday to Saturday (morning only) thing, so you all will still have the weekend. [:

Okay, now for the details.

We have chosen such a date (I know, its in the middle of nowhere) because if we were to book the chalet during the Nov/Dec holidays, the booking fee would be twice at much. I'm not kidding, Costa Sands is that ______ (fill in the blank). We will be booking it as a NTUC member, so it will be cheaper.

So, therefore, we settled for the 9th to 11th of October, and at Costa Sands Pasir Ris. Downtown East is booked, and the chalets at Sentosa are stacked up like a flat, so we do not have the freedom to run around.

Do you all want to have a single-storey chalet or a double-storey one? The difference in booking fee is $57.

This is the double-storey chalet.

This is the single-storey chalet.

Please do tell us (Cai/Gwen/Weilin/Gen/Bel) if you want the single-storey or the double-storey chalet. You need to tell us (and pay too) ASAP because we need to book the chalet now. You can either tell us in class.

I know some of you want only a 2D/1N stay, but a 3D/2N stay is more worth it in terms of value. For a 2D/1N stay, its $76 (Single-Storey) and $96 (Double-Storey) for NTUC members. We have taken a vote, and decided for the 3D/2N stay. However, those that do not want to stay for the second night is free to do so.

Now for the cost and logistics.

If we were to take that we are booking a double-storey chalet for 3D/2N, the cost of it will be $248. We have to take in consideration of the food and drinks, and we estimate it to cost at around $150 (we do not think it is enough). The grand total will therefore be $398.

We do not think that the whole class will turn up. We shall take the number of people attending the chalet to be 20, and if we split the cost up evenly, it would be $19.90 per person. As you can see, it is much more than the $13 we intend to collect from each of you.

Those that do not intend to stay for the second night will pay only $12 rather than the $13 which is for the people staying for both nights are supposed to pay.

Our class is small (and adding on the fact that some of you are not very co-operative in terms of paying/turning up for such events), we have to pay more as there is lesser people. If we have 30 people, it would only be $13.20 per person. We don't, however, so I hope you all will understand why you have to pay so much.

As we have mentioned, we do not think we have the budget for food and drinks. Therefore, we decided to only provide certain meals, and for the rest, we will either order in or go out to eat. We suggest that we have a BBQ on the first night, and we order in Macs for breakfast on the second day. For lunch, we can either go out to eat at the cafeteria there. I'm not sure about dinner, its up to you all. We can either go out to eat again, or have another BBQ. We have to check-out by 10.30am on the last day, so I am not sure if we have the time for breakfast.

This is currently the plan for meals, because honestly, we do not have enough to buy everything (BBQ cost a lot of money, plus the booking of the pit, which is $16). So unless you all are willing to pay more, we are sorry that we cannot provide all meals on our super tight budget.

You guys can bring whatever you all want, your bicycles, laptops and everything else. There is a swimming pool located there, and there is also a bicylce koisk. Pasir Ris beach is also located near-by, so we can always go there.

For details such as meeting time and what to bring (clothes and certain items), we will inform you when the date is closer.

We really hope that this chalet will turn out fine, and that all of you will take the effort to at least turn up, because it is a class thing. We hope to put the screwed class BBQ us and make this class chalet a successful one (damn, I sound really corny).

So, please pay $13 or $12 (for those staying only for one night) to Cai (for the girls) or QX (for the guys) ASAP. We need to book the chalet by next week. Remember, if the chalets are fully booked, I guess we can say goodbye to our plans.

For now, good luck for our EOY exams. I hope there's still 27 of us next year. There's no such thing as 26 dresses, is there? [:

Love,
Soonie
